Ashville make it 12 points in 2 weeks after 2 more wins against Telford Town and Foley Meir!

It was another double game week for Ashville starting off with a Wednesday night trip to face Telford Town. The game started well for Villa and they took a well deserved lead on 14 minutes. Matty Welding released winger Bisensio Kamilo down the right side and his excellent cross was met by Tom Davies who finished in to the

roof of the net. Ashville kept up the pressure, on 19 minutes Connor Courtnell’s cross in to the box found Joel Kelly but the midfielder’s clever shot was well saved by Telford’s keeper. The second half continued the same as the first and on 62 minutes Peter Morgan beat his man on the left side and fired in a great cross which fell to Jack Edwards to score his seventh goal of the season. The game was wrapped up on 80 minutes. A long ball over the top of Telford’s defence found Nivaldo Ferreira who raced through, rounded the keeper and slotted home. A comfortable win on the road for Ashville.Attention then turned to Saturday’s home tie versus Foley Meir. It was another fast start from Villa. On 13 minutes Connor Courtnell’s corner found an unmarked Joe Haley at the back post who’s excellent sweeping finish gave Villa the lead. The rest of the first half didn’t go the home sides way with Foley Meir having long spells of possession without producing many clear cut chances. The second half continued in the same fashion as the first and the home side needed a second goal to settle the game down. They got that goal on 64 minutes. A long goal kick from goalkeeper George Huyton found the head of Kieron Frost and his flick on found Peter Morgan who raced through on goal and chipped the ball over the out rushing Foley keeper and in to the back of the net. The goal settled the home side down and both goals were enough to earn the home side the result and a fourth win in a row to push them up to fourth place in the table with six league games remaining. The play-off push continues for Ashville with a trip to face New Mills on Tuesday 10th March, 7:45pm kick off, followed by a further away trip to face Wolverhampton Casuals on Saturday 14th March, 3pm kick off.
